Our Story - Our "Little" Family - Grows!

Long story shortened. LOL

My pomeranian had passed away in 2007, leaving my black lab and my shep/rottie/chow mix. We adopted the 3 rescued kittens when we moved in August 2009 and then suddenly in the course of less than a year, Momma cat gave birth again, hiding them in a small open area between the fridge and counter in our kitchen, imagine my Fellas surprise when he went to get a cup of coffee and heard little mewling sounds but couldn't figure out where they came from! LOL. He called me at work and told me what he had found when he went on the search for the location of these sounds. I came home and coaxed 4 little kittens out and we tucked Momma and her new kittens into a large box with a blanket she had been sleeping on. Momma cat ran off again before I could get her to the Dr to get spayed, but I am DETERMINED to go get her and get that poor baby fixed since her owner doesn't care enough to do it!

7 other additions came to us in May of 2010, when Tennessee was hit by almost 16 inches of rain in two days and badly flooded, when we went to get bottled water, ice for the coolers and batteries, we rescued 7 puppies about 6 weeks old from a crated box left outside of a gas station during the flood. I was heartbroken to see them and knew I wasn't leaving there without them, so my Fella picked crate and all up and put it in the backseat of our car.

We moved to our new house in October of 2010, what a move that was! Getting all of us moved into the new house, *Laughing* but we made it. December 14th 2010, my black lab and the oldest of my angels passed away, I miss her dearly, she was my shadow and never left my side. I will forever love and miss her, it is like a part of me is missing now, but I know she is quite content and happy where she is.

Now, we're working on getting all of them spayed/neutured but the local program that helps with greatly discounted spay & neuter for rescued animals is over run with dropoffs and it's taking them a very long time to get caught up after the economy went dowhill and so many poor furbabys have just been left to wander and fend for themselves, but we will get them done and then, we will find them fur-ever homes.

One thing is certain though, not a single one will leave this house unless the person that wants them, loves them as much or more than we do and I know they will take great care of them before they worry about themselves.

This is our story and all of the antics, tribulations and furbaby stuff that goes on around here everyday, we are happy to share it with you and look forward to hearing the stories of other 4 Legged Angels and their humans as well.
